EA is the first major company up to bat at this year's E3. They aren't starting soft, either. The publisher is starting their multi-topic event this year with never before seen footage of the upcoming Star Wars RPG, Star Wars: Jedi Fallen Order.

Before the video, Vince Zampella and Stig, from developers Respawn, talked a bit about what everyone was about to see. They stated that the new game will be a single player action adventure game, in 3rd person perspective. It takes place not long after the events of Order 66, and the protagonist is trying to restore the Jedi order.

The footage itself takes place about 3 hours into the game. The Imperials have taken over Kasheek, a tropical forest planet inhabited by wookies. They're using the sap from the trees to build war resources.

During the gameplay, we see a little bit of everything. The protagonist has a list of tools and equipment he can use, such as grappling rope, a tiny robot companion sitting on his shoulder, and the standard array of Jedi skills (lightsabers, force grabs, etc). We see the player combat against standard storm troopers, giant spiders, and specialized hunters. There are a few quick time events and platforming segments, as well. All in all, it seems like an excellent example of what the game offers.

It's worth mentioning just how good the game looks. It's truly showing the graphical potential of modern games.

We'll see more about the game on Sunday, during the Xbox Microsoft Press Event.

Star Wars: Jedi Fallen Order will be released on November 15, 2019, for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. At least according to the Amazon listing for the game.
