E3 2019: Sega and Nintendo Are Sporting with Mario & Sonic at the Tokyo 2020 Games

It's weird that Mario can keep up. It's weirder that Sonic is wearing a shirt.

We all knew this was coming. Ever Since Mario and Sonic teamed up to pretend to go to the Olympics, we knew this wouldn’t just stop with 2016. And here we are in 2020, the Tokyo Summer games are just one year away, and Sonic, Mario and pals are here to show those professional athletes how inadequate they are compared to cartoon characters.

Keepin’ the magic alive.

Join Mario, Sonic and friends for their greatest Olympic adventure yet, exclusively on Nintendo Switch. Compete in brand new Olympic sports and classic events with a variety of play styles and game modes.

Credit where it’s due: any game where you can have Tails drop-kick Peach is a winner in my book, and frankly, the games do look fun… as a sort of semi-grounded crossover Mario Party, the games have their merits. It’s just not something I personally am too excited for.

But hey, we’ve always got Animal Crossing.
