E3 2019: Rage 2 is Getting New DLC, Rise of Ghosts

It's kind of two different trailers in once.

Rage 2 came out a few weeks ago, and the broad critical consensus is that it happened. Maybe people are just a little sick of post-apocalyptic sandbox shooters (we have been getting a lot of them, after all), and while Rage 2 can be called an improvement over the game that spawned it, it's still somewhat... flat? Lifeless? The combat is good but apparently there's nothing compelling to bridge that action together, so it's got a long ways to go before it can be put on the same level as Bethesda's other more compelling titles, like Wolfenstein or friggen' Doom.

Still, it's got fans enough, which will be happy to hear that they're getting some exciting new DLC that's looking to shake up the game in some interesting and fun ways. Case in point: the name of the video is literally "Rage 2 - Official E3 Trailer- You Won't Believe This Clickbait Title".

Gotta love some self-awareness.

Sorry for the clickbait, trying to fit in here.

A Pilotable Mech? A giant Sandworm? New vehicles? New Cheats? New Game Modes? A new faction!?

There’s a lot coming to the wild wasteland of RAGE 2. Watch our official E3 trailer for a preview of some of the newness coming each week, including a preview of our first DLC expansion, Rise of the Ghosts, coming later this year.

The trailer looks good, and certainly has a good sense of humor, but Rage 2 has always looked good. If this new DLC can deliver where the main game failed, well... we'll find out when it launches. Whenever that is.
