E3 2019: Bethesda Deals us a New Expansion for The Elder Scrolls Legends

Because The Elder Scrolls 6 just isn't in the cards this year...

Bethesda’s known for three things: publishing really good stuff from ID software, Fallout, and of course, The Elder Scrolls. Right now Bethesda has two fairly noticeable Elder Scrolls projects in the works: one is The Elder Scrolls online, which is made by Zenimax Online studios, and the other is The Elder Scrolls Legends, that digital TCG that most people kind of forget is a thing. Both showed up at this year’s E3 (instead of an actual trailer for The Elder Scrolls 6, of course) and the latter had quite a bit to show when it had its chance at the spotlight.

First video they showed was just a general hype video, which was… cute, I guess.

Whether you play to win, show off your creativity or assemble hordes of ornery Mudcrabs to overwhelm your foes, there’s never been a better time to join in on the strategy, fantasy and fun of The Elder Scrolls: Legends!

But there are better things to do at E3 than just remind people that the game exists – however necessary as that might be. Because they followed that up with an announcement that the game would be getting a new expansion, called The Moons of Elsweyr, on June 27h.

As new conflicts emerge in the ancestral home of the Khajiit, so too does the next expansion for The Elder Scrolls: Legends with Moons of Elweyr!

Credit where it’s due: Blizzard is way better at these TCG trailers than Bethesda is.

Still, the expansion looks fine. It adds 75 cards to the game, most of which tie into the desert homeland of the Khajiit – which, if you’ll recall, is also where the most recent expansion of The Elder Scrolls Online is set. Anyway, if you want 50 packs, a guaranteed legendary card, the title Bearer of the Wrathstone and a special reverse, you’ll need to dish out a solid 50 bucks… a big ask but I’m sure there are people out there who’ll pay it.

Anyway. That’s that.
