Ubisoft announced that Mario + Rabbids Kingdom Battle has a second add-on coming, and this time it features a familiar ape. The leader of the bunch, you know him well, he's finally back, to kick some tail! Donkey Kong has barrel blasted his way to the turn-based strategy game.

He will be more than just some eye candy, DK will be a playable character with his own story taking place in a new Kong themed world. Ubisoft is excited about the characters interesting body type to play out on the battlefield, according to Davide Soliani, creative director at Ubisoft Milan.

Donkey Kong will be a playable character, and he will star in his own story that will also include a new world. The apes size and stature will present some unique narrative and battle opportunities, according to Ubisoft.

He has big arms, so we wanted to use them extensively through the combat. He can also be very goofy, and thats why his presence in the game, along with the Rabbids, allowed us to present different kinds of humorous interactions in the storytelling.

Mario + Rabbids Kingdom Battle already had ties to the big ape. The music composer for the game is Grant Kirkhope, who also composed the music in Donkey Kong 64. Though we can safely call this a coincidence.

It sounds like he will fit in perfectly with the style of Mario + Rabbids Kingdom Battle. The DLC is due to release this spring. No pricing has been announced yet, though it will be available for free to anyone who purchased the $20 season pass for the game.
