But we mostly care about the dog friend.

Fighting an army isn't easy, even if that army is operated by a powerful church in Montana. Far Cry 5 looks to make the struggle a bit easier with NPC companions, each as kooky as the last.

Ubisoft released a trailer earlier today showing off 7 characters in their upcoming first-person shooter that will team up with the protagonist to take on the church, each with their own reasons for it. From pilots to soldiers, to numbskulls with explosives, each has their own unique way of assisting the player. Did I mention one of them is a dog?

This is a great example of how Far Cry can be a series game with ridiculous content. Each companion seems like a caricature of what you might see in rural Montana. Don't worry about things getting to over the top, though. Ubisoft saves their truly crazy concepts for the DLC.

Far Cry 5 will release on March 23 for PS4, Xbox One, and PC.
