Destiny Will Not be a Free Game

There are a bunch of different websites saying that Destiny will be going free to play soon. That's absolutely not the case at all. Though there are millions of people that already have the game, for the select few of you that don't, you're seeing a trial of the base game for Destiny. In order to actually play the game, you need to purchase the collector's pack. If Destiny were to go free, I think it would make a lot of sense. The base game is very simple and without the expansions, there's not a lot that you can do. Microsoft came out and addressed the Destiny issue stating:
 

The original Destiny adventure may appear to be free on some digital console marketplaces. While players may download the Destiny base game, they will only be granted access to the Destiny Trial Mode for free. If players wish to progress through the original Destiny adventure via digital download, they will be required to purchase Destiny The Collection to gain access to this content.

Perhaps in the future we might see a free download for Destiny coming our way, but for now it's not happening. Honestly, I find it really irritating when a game comes out for $60 and after a few months you need to keep spending money. Fallout 4 and Skyrim both have DLCs, but they still have a very strong base game. DLCs should just be small missions you can do in your free time for a loot reward. Being forced to pay an additional $20 in order to advance in the storyline is ridiculous to me.
