Data Miners Find Seven New Costumes in Super Mario Odyssey

Why wasn't it eight?

Since its launch late last year, Super Mario Odyssey has received a few updates, one of which included new costumes. According to data miners, we can expect to see this happen again.

These miners have discovered seven images within the game's files, indicating the release of said costumes in a future update. The text names of these outfits were discovered back in February, but now we have graphical evidence of said costumes.

Seven outfits have been found, but there may be an eighth, undiscovered one, as well. The first outfit is a spooky, undead one called Zombie Outfit. This outfit (as seen) even includes an axe to the head, which I imagine you throw. There are also a conductor wig and outfit, a racing fire suit and helmet, and a Santa outfit.

The remaining three outfits are renditions of the Broodals, the antagonistic wedding party. The interesting thing is the missing fourth Broodal. The small one wearing green is not represented amongst the new outfits. Whether that means he was left out or the data miners haven't found it yet, remains a mystery.

No word on when these outfits will become available in-game.
