I don’t think many people doubt that Cyberpunk 2077 is going to be a good game: it comes from a prestigious developer well-known for their highly-polished and in-depth RPGs, the first trailer for the game was absolutely stunning, the almost hour-long gameplay demo was equally impressive, and people who got to play the game live at the trade shows pretty much uniformly heaped praise onto the title. Still, if you needed any more reason to think this game is going to be a smash hit, then CD Projekt Red is happy to deliver: as a recently updated Linkedin profile suggests that Konrad Tomaszkiewicz, director of The Witcher 3 and its expansions, is moving on to also work on Cyberpunk 2077 as a design director.

This update has replaced the most recent job on his profile, which was game director of The Witcher 3’s Blood and Wine expansion. He’s also worked on The Witcher 2 as the Lead Gameplay Designer and Senior Designer, and the very first Witcher as a Junior Tester and a Designer, so, he’s got quite a bit of experience to fall back on. While this is probably good news for fans, it was clearly not an intentional decision, as the old creative director of the game, Sebastian Stępień, left the company to join Blizzard, a move he might regret at this exact moment.

All the same, it’s unfortunate his little tidbit doesn’t give us a whole lot to work with in terms of content, but we shouldn’t have to wait too long to hear more about this title: we already know it’ll be showing up at this year’s E3, likely alongside the next-gen consoles it will be designed to run on… although don’t worry, CD Projekt Red has confirmed that the game will be optimized to run on current-gen consoles as well.
