Cyberpunk 2077 Creative Director joins Blizzard Entertainment

Doesn't actually say he left CDPR though.

Sebastian Stępień, the creative director for Cyberpunk 2077, has left CD Projekt Red to work for Blizzard.

According to an update to Stępień's LinkedIn, he joined Blizzard Entertainment this month (January 2019). The listing also cites his role for CD Projekt Red as "present." Though with the two organizations operating in different nations, it's not clear if he still works for CD Projekt Red or not.

There's little chance this will affect the actual game or its release. Recently entering the beta phase of development, a heavy majority of creative decisions have been made and implemented. Even so, with Cyberpunk 2077 in the later stages of production, it's struck many as odd for someone in his position to find employment elsewhere.

There has been nothing to indicate why the transition is taking place now instead of after the game's release.

Either way, this is an impressive acquisition by Blizzard and an equally impressive accomplishment by Stępień. We wish both of them luck in the future.

The story will be updated should any new information become available.
