From jailbird to mayor. Impressive.

At Combo Breaker 2018, the annual fighting game championship (featuring some interesting competitors, mind you), a special announcement was made in relation to Street Fighter V. Remember that Cody was to enter the ring at some point?

Perhaps you do, perhaps you don't, but he has been fully, 100 percent unveiled, and you can check out his gameplay trailer below:

What's even cooler is Kenny Omega, one of the greatest New Japan wrestlers current on the circuit and top Cody main in the world, is playing as Cody in the trailer. Oh, and Xavier Woods, of WWE stardom, is on the phone with him in said trailer.

Pretty freakin' cool, right?

Anyway, Cody's back, and he's mayor... after being released from jail.

So many questions for his story. Like how in the world did he become mayor? I suppose we will (hopefully) find out in Street Fighter V. According to the official description underneath the trailer:

"Cody Travers has served his time behind bars but has now become the new mayor of Metro City. Although quite busy with his everyday duties, he will arrive in Street Fighter V: Arcade Edition on June 26 as the fourth character of Season 3! Codys move set in Street Fighter V: Arcade Edition resembles those from his previous appearances, but altered to fit his new spiffy style."

In regards to his playstyle, his movesets are sleek as hell (excuse my language), his appearance is slick, and well... he's transformed and upgraded, is all I have to say.

So yeah, look forward to Cody Travers in Street Fighter V: Arcade Edition on June 26 on Xbox One, PC, and PlayStation 4.
