In a statement released today, Cliff Bleszinski put in his weight on the issue of Facebook buying out Oculus Rift, namely the internet's reaction to the ordeal. Bleszinski supported Palmer Luckey, CEO of Oculus Rift, in his endeavors, and reassures gamers that their priorities will be to gaming first. Other potential uses, such as PTSD treatment, virtual movie theaters, and other various industries have been touched on as well, and he implores that gamers and backers both find an understanding of the deal.

He has also chastised Notch for backing out of a deal to bring the Oculus Rift to Minecraft, stating that Notch backing out is "...like a pouty kid who is taking his ball and is going home."

Before reading the statement, I was, for the most part, on Notch's side. We all know Facebook asks for a LOT of personal information, has a lot of ads, and stupid little browser games no one cares about. But I think Cliff might genuinely be right, Zuckerberg might just be going for the future on this one. There're a LOT of applications the Rift might be able to have in the future, but I think we're the first target. Palmer wouldn't be one to drop everything and sell out for whatever the buyer wants, and even if he did, he knows that the world's eyes are on him. There's no way he'd be able to get away with it, considering now even Sony is making their own VR headset, and I wouldn't be surprised if other manufacturers joined in.

Have faith, people. Or don't, burn the village to the ground, and move on! Your choice!
