Free games are always something to celebrate and report on, especially when they’re old classics that have stood the test of time in almost every respect. And for about twenty-four hours, the free game you can claim is none other than Civilization 3 Complete, which is currently absolutely free over at the Humble store.

The complete edition ships with both of the game’s expansions, Play the World and Conquest, making it the whole package and a bag of chips. You really have no excuse not to give it a try: all you have to do is go here, click “add to cart”, and if you don’t feel like buying anything else, go to checkout and get the Steam key for the game.

As for why the game is currently free, well, by the looks of things it has everything to do with the fact that Civ 6 just released its Fall update, which adds new civilizations for download and brings about some much-needed gameplay changes. That might not be what they’re specifically celebrating, but, it’s the best guess I got.

Not as if I need a reason to enjoy a free game, of course. Better act fast, though: this deal ends tomorrow!
