Chef Creates EarthBound Inspired Cookbook

EarthBound, the popular Weirdo RPG by Nintendo, was well known for its bizarre rendition of American culture. When you aren't fighting aliens with a bat, you're talking to eccentric townspeople and eating obscure food.

Food is a big part of the game. The large variety of food items are the party's primary source of healing, and you even tell the game what your favorite food is when you first play. From trash burgers to luxury jerky, much of the game's flavor comes from the food. This is why Chef Bryan Connor is making an EarthBound-inspired cookbook.

Connor gained community popularity when he recreated the entirety of Onett out of gingerbread. He also runs a blog about gaming related food recipes known as the Lvl 1 Chef blog. Connor has teamed up with a number of writers and artists to create the Mother's Cookbook, an unofficial EarthBound cookbook.

Chef Bryan Connor is widely known in the EarthBound community for his epic creation of a full Gingerbread town modeled after Ness home, Onett. Connor also runs the Lvl 1 Chef blog, a site that focuses on recipes for all sorts of gaming-related delicacies. Recently he teamed with a slew of talented artists and writers to produce Mothers Cookbook, an unofficial guide to preparing any and every food item found in EarthBound.

The name is based on the game's Japanese title, Mother 2. It will be full of recipes based on EarthBound foods, like Down Home Burgers and Mach Pizzas. The Kickstarter for the cookbook has already met its goal, and the project is looking to send out books by the end of 2018.
