Activision-Blizzard, the company that underpaid employees to the point where they couldn't eat, lied about raises, and routinely bows to the will of the Chinese government, canceled the 2020 Blizzcon conference earlier this year when it became painfully clear that COVID-19 wasn't going to magically disappear. At the time, they said they would work on a digital alternative (which should have been easy, since they've been selling digital tickets to the conference for years) but didn't commit to any details.

Well, now those details have come to light: and the next Blizzcon, which will be all-digital, will be held in February of 2021.

While circumstances are keeping us from gathering in person this year, were putting together a little something early next year to channel the spirit of BlizzCon into the form of an online show. We still have a lot of planning to do, and itll be some time before were ready to share more detailsbut we wanted to provide a heads-up on how you can be a part of the online fun.

To their credit, they've detailed a lot of different digital events that, while they won't replace the con-going experience, creates a nice digital facsimile. There'll be a community showcase of Cosplay, a talent show, a Murlock march, as well as some of the contests for art and storytelling, with winners being shown off during the conference itself.

The details of these many events, including deadlines and restrictions, are included in the linked page. So if you were hankering for some socially responsible bonding with your fellow Blizzard fans, you can find everything you'll need to make that happen. Except for a price. There's no word on how much these digital tickets will cost, but it's safe to assume it'll be at least close to what the old virtual tickets cost.

So yeah, get hyped I suppose.
