If you thought that Chung “blitzchung” Ng Wai was done with Hearthstone just because he was banned for six months by Blizzard for trying to advocate for a free Hong Kong, you probably work for Blizzard. But Blitzchung himself has never once claimed that he planned to stop playing games, least of all Hearthstone, which is why it’s so encouraging that, in spite of his half-year ban keeping him from participating in any proper matches, Blitzchung has been signed up with another esports organization – one that seems to appreciate his style.

Tempo Storm, founded in 2014 by former Hearthstone pro Andrey “Reynad” Yanyuk and current CEO, is the lucky team, and here’s what they have to say about the recent partnership:

We believe first and foremost in supporting players and encouraging them to engage and to speak out on the things about which they are most passionate. In many ways, we value the character and integrity of our players as much as, if not more than, their tournament placings. blitzchung brings incredible talent, an infectious personality, and a great deal of enthusiasm, for Hearthstone as well as his community and others around him. He exemplifies what Tempo believes in, and we welcome him as an ambassador for our brand.

Blitzchung also seems pretty pumped about the situation:

It has been my dream to be a part of Tempo Storm and I am excited to join the team, as it is one of the best in Hearthstone. I had been thinking about whether to continue my Hearthstone career in the past few weeks. Since I haven't reached my professional goals yet, and I don't want to fall by the wayside, I will start competing again after I am unbanned.

You might be wondering what, exactly, Blitzchung will be doing since he can’t actually participate in tournaments. The answer is simple: rake in good PR for Temo Storm, and stream a whole bunch.

Sounds like a win for everyone but Blizzard.
