Bioware Suggests New Dragon Age 4 Information is Incoming

It probably involves dragons.

Bioware has fallen pretty hard from grace in recent years. After peaking with the release of Dragon Age: Inquisition, the company released two enormous duds – Mass Effect Andromeda, which was critically panned and apparently killed off the entire series, and Anthem, which has become so ubiquitous with the failure of live-service games and roadmap promises that people have been spending the better half of the year wondering if it would even survive to reach 2020.

However, despite EA’s (and their own) best efforts to sabotage themselves, there’s still one game that’s got a moderate amount of hype around it: Dragon Age 4. We know it exists thanks to a 2018 Game Awards presentation, and we know (thanks to a series of interviews) that it was supposed to be a really cool spy thriller that’s been transformed into something more aligned with EA’s values, but other than that we don’t have a whole lot to speculate on.

But that may change, thanks to this new Bioware tweet:

Today marks 10 years of Dragon Age! This year we’re excited to join the community’s party on December 4th and celebrate a decade together in the world we all love. See you on 12/4 for Dragon 4ge Day

12/4 is the 11/7 of the Dragon Age community, a time to celebrate the RPG series they all love so much. Typically, not a whole lot has ever come from the Dragon Age “day”, but if EA or Bioware were looking for a time to reveal more information about Dragon Age 4, which Bioware needs to be a smash hit if they’re going to survive, this would be a pretty opportune moment.

It was speculated that Bioware wouldn’t survive if Anthem did poorly. Thankfully, that speculation proved wrong, but it would be hard to imagine a world where they’re given a second chance if Dragon Age 4 is a flop.

Better give it your all, peeps.
