And that's literally all we know.

Bethesda had a powerful E3 press event this year, though they saved their best for last. One of the final announcements made was for a work in progress from Bethesda Game Studios, Starfield.

According to director Todd Howard, this is their first new franchise in 25 years. While all we were given was a name, the few-second teaser of a rising sun from space, and the name itself, gives us good reason to be excited about a sci-fi adventure game.

While this is the literal sum of everything we know about the game, people are already rather excited about it. Bethesda's ability to make a fun and addicting RPG has proven the test of time many times over, and this will be the first time they bring that skill to the galaxy and beyond.

We will inevitably hear more about Starfield in due time. Though given their current platter of projects, I have a feeling it'll be a fairly long time before we see more.
