A while back I had talked about the struggle between Bethesda and Sony as they tried to reach an agreement for mods. Well, the day has finally come. Both Skyrim and Fallout 4 will be available with mods, and both will be supported in 4K native on the new PS4 Pro. On October 28th, Skyrim will have the mods ready to go. Mods and PS4 Pro availability for Fallout 4 will not be coming for a little while. Bethesda is waiting until everything with Skyrim is squared away before they try to tackle another project.

If you want to use a mod on the PS4, you can not upload external assets. You can only use the assets that come with the game you're modding. You can create your own mods and content by downloading the Bethesda Creation Kit, which you can download right here. If you create a Bethesda.net account, you can start browsing and playing mods as soon as they come out.

I'm really glad that Sony and Bethesda finally worked something out. It's been a battle for a really long time, and I'm sure Playstation users were getting pretty annoyed with the whole thing. I'm excited to experience both games in native 4K and see just how incredible they really look. Fallout 4 will have brand new lighting effects and graphics features, while Skyrim is just getting a general overhaul.
