Battlefield 5 Returns to World War 2

With one stunning trailer, might I add.

The previously-announced debut trailer for Battlefield V has arrived, giving us a first look at what the DICE-developed game will be like. Unsurprisingly, it takes place in World War II.

The trailer shows off a seamless scene of "the player" as they are in the heat of battle. They're assisted by a number of British teammates as they encounter everything from close quarters to kamikazes. At one point, it transitions into what appears to be gameplay, showing off just how beautiful said gameplay can be. This includes what appears to be the ability to shoot while on their back, prone.

The last time we saw a Battlefield game based in this time period was in 2009 with Battlefield 1943. According to senior producer Andreas Morell, Battlefield V focuses more on the unseen locations of WWII. This includes locations such as northern Norway and Rotterdam Netherlands.

Battlefield V is set to release on October 19 for the PlayStation 4, Windows PC and Xbox One. EA Access and Origin Access subscribers will be able to take advantage of the Play First Trial starting Oct. 11, and customers who buy the Deluxe Edition can start playing Oct. 16.
