Battleborn's First DLC Mission Launches

And it's in noir style for... reasons.

Battleborn's been having a rough time of it as of late... if you want to say it's even having a time. For a multiplayer-focused shooter, there are very few people actually playing it, which pretty much means the game, for all the good or bad it may be, is dead. Ol' Randy tried to persuade users that there's still a very active playerbase, but the cue times for a simple multiplayer match tells a very different story. And while Gearbox is far from the only developer who struggles to retain player attention for these multiplayer-focused games, they are pretty much the only ones who have to do more than just keep their few fans... they have to actually make NEW ones, which can be nearly impossible for a game as 'old' as Battleborn.

Still, they'll give it a shot, with the newly-released DLC, called Attikus and the Thrall Rebellion.

Stand up and fight for the Thrall! Relive the third Thrall uprising that sparked a revolution within the Jennerit Empire. Run through the slums of the planet Tempest and see what motivated Attikus, firsthand - all with a film noir flair.

But wait, there's more than a new single-player mission. This DLC also comes with skins, taunts, titles, and commander packs for all the factions in the game... all for $5.00. Which, honestly, is pretty damn good for everything that's involved. But wait, there's more!

Even if you don't buy the DLC, this new patch also includes a new multiplayer Mode, called Face-Off, where two teams compete to see who can kill waves of bad guys faster and deposit their masks. The first to get to 500 masks win, but as the match goes on, enemies get tougher, and the enemy team can kill you and take the masks you're carrying.

All fun. Fun enough to compete with Overwatch, or even Paladins? Hardly. But it's somethin'.
