Weve known about it for a while, but only now are we getting to see it with our own eyes. Introducing Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora, an action adventure game adaption of the hit film.

The game was announced as the final reveal of the Ubisoft Forward E3 presentation. In it, we see cinematic scenes of Pandora, the home planet of the Navi and main stage for the Avatar film. From the perspective of the local inhabitants, we see an invasion by human military forces, and the combat between them.

The game is described as a new, standalone story in the same universe. The player will explore the Western Frontier, a previously unseen area of Pandora. There, they will interact with the diverse wildlife and flora that call that land home, at least until RDA forces invade, presumably for the rare Unobtainum resources that reside there.

This is the first real look were getting at the game since it was first revealed in early 2017. Built within the Snowdrop Engine, a new game engine built by Ubisoft, and is being made in collaboration between the publisher, Lightstorm Entertainment, and Disney.  Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora is expected to release some time in 2022 for consoles and PC.
