343 Industries Implies Halo 6 to Delay Past 2018

And a leaker implies of a Halo Battle Royale game mode.

There has a bit of a commotion recently in regards to the future of Halo, both of which are fueled by somewhat vague remarks made by people of significant importance to the Halo franchise.

The biggest bit is a blog post by Halo Developers 343 Industries.

"Welcome back! To be frank (or Grim, really), I'm not sure if that's a welcome back to us, or you guys, but let's go with it either way. 2018 has arrived and with it, the promise of new fun times to be had and adventures to be embarked upon. No, not those adventures, but plenty of exciting ones regardless - some which might surprise you more than others."

The italicising of the word 'those' is what drew everyone's attention. Fans have been waiting for more news about Halo 6, and many believe that the stylized word is in reference to that. This would imply that Halo 6 will not be released in 2018, but different projects are instead.

The other item of interest was information provided by Resetera user Klobrille making a somewhat cryptic hint towards some future projects by Microsoft.

"I would love to have a really high player-count (connections per session) for Xbox biggest franchise."

Klobrille established reliability when they accurately leaked Microsoft's E3 2016 press conference information. According to comments by Klobrille earlier in the forum post, the odd phrasing is  due to not wanting to make any kind of direct or official statement, due to the inability to confirm any of the information.

This sounds like Halo is looking to create a high player count game mode. With the rise of battle royale games this last year, this very well may mean a Halo: Battlegrounds game.

Both remain speculation at this point. Though with a lack of confirmation by 343 Industries or Microsoft, the possibility of this being true lingers still.
