Motif Mask Takes Puzzles to a New Level

Brain-twisting puzzles have never been so pretty.

The Vietnamese company, Omi Studio, is showing off their latest puzzle game, Motif Mask. The gameplay itself is as simple as it is brain teasing. The core of the game is image matching. However, this is accomplished by overlaying simpler images on top of each other to recreate the original.

Look at that, you already goofed.

The problem comes in how these images overlap. Many of the overlays stretch further than the original image shows. That means players will have to plan out each move to ensure only the necessary parts of each image show. Oh, and there's a time limit. The goal of the game is match as many different patterns as possible in one minute. And they get more difficult the further you go. For those who still think that's too easy, there's also an Arcade Mode where you're not allowed to make even a single mistake. That means it's game over for that little screenshot up there.

I like a good puzzle game, so I may end up checking this out myself. As of writing this, I haven't found it on the iTunes store nor on Google Play, but I'll be sure to refresh the page every now and then.
