Beyond Good & Evil 2 Not Coming This E3, but Maybe Before 2018

News, I mean. Maybe some NEWS before 2018.

E3 is just around the corner, and companies all over the world are preparing their trailers, showcases, and most important works to try to raise hype and good press for their upcoming releases. Some companies have an easier time than others about it, though: everyone is on the edge of their seat to see what kind of wonders Nintendo shows off in their E3-Adjacent Nintendo Direct, but a company like Ubisoft, largely disliked by the gaming public, has a much steeper hill to climb. Having done very little to win favor with their fans, Ubisoft is going to have to make some miracles happen if they're going to walk away from E3 with an improved reputation.

And if you're thinking that miracle could be Beyond Good and Evil 2, well... don't hold your breath, but we might still see more from the game before the end of 2017.

The news comes from series creator Michel Ancel's Instagram, where he shared this delectable nugget:

"Mhhh , not sure that E3 would be the best place to showcase Bg&e2 but we´re working on the game so sometime this year , you should hear about it!"

After so many delays, it sure is encouraging to hear we might get to know more by the end of the year... is what I wish I could say. But man, this game has been teased, and teased, and teased some more by Ubisoft and Co., and fat this point, I just feel strung along. I refuse to get excited about any more teases: just show me the damn game already!

...and for the love of god don't put microtransactions into it. I know you will, but if I beg you really loudly, will you maybe change your mind?!?

I guess I should take my own advice and stop holding my breath, huh?
