If anyone has seen the ending of Halo 3, it's kind of hinted that there might be another game but it seems they're trying to tie it in with an earlier Bungie game called Marathon I believe? Never played it but this is what I've heard.

It appears Bungie won't be developing it, instead it's GearBox I believe?
Here are some interesting articles I found:
Bungie Losing HALO 4 to Gearbox?
Halo 4 rumored as Xbox 720 launch title
Rumor Killers: February 6

ok if they make a halo 4 who will be the enemy in it there is no covenant
unless the elites take over witch will not happen the only things I can think of is
that blue planet at the end of halo 3 is a flood home world if Spartan 117 aka master chief
crash lands on the planet the unsc find a life beacon set off from the half of the ship mc is on
they train more Spartans send them out to find him and he is foun dead thats when you
will get to see who is under the mask
you also probly play as the captain of the small Spartan squad
the flood follow back to earth the humans have no choice but to activate the rings end
of the world an all that stuff

My guess is that it might introduce a new enemy. I'm guessing the "Forerunners" might be the new enemy perhaps. They may have evolved in some fashion or become more evil. I mean, you have to have some "evil" in you to create the flood right? haha, I'm not sure we'll see Earth again, at least not in the scope we did in the last 2 games.
As for multiple Spartans, I think it's possible but will they be friendly?

Halo has run its course and should now be left to RIP. Microsoft could make a game that is a strand off of the halo games, meaning that they use the Halo universe for some other game of the same sort, although these never end well.
The only way I would like to see a Halo 4 (or new halo game) would be for a game that goes back to before that spartans were destroyed and lets you play as a commander of a small group, like SKITx2K9x suggested, but also like Republic Commandos, a truly classic FPS.

Hmm, isn't that what Halo 3: ODST is?

It might be but I haven't been following the ODST game really, I may buy it but won't follow whats happening with it until its released.
If you ever played Republic Commandos then you would know what a truly great game it was and how them making a halo game like that would probably be the best Halo game yet.

ODST will be a more stealth based game not squad sorry. As for Skit; Halo: Reach was announced at E3 which takes place during the fall of the planet, which means its right at the height of the Spartan-II program. So we may be seeing a lot of 117s class mates.

ODST was a alright game it just took place during the time gap between Halo 2 where Spartan 117 ended up on the ship to the start of Halo 3, Reach will probably be a group based game type where you control a group of Spartans no doubt the ones from the books, if i'm correct it will more then likely be a good game.

ODST was big, Firefight is the most fun I've ever had playing Halo nearly. It brought me back to Halo 1 in some ways.
As for Halo 4, I think it will happen. I don't believe Reach will be the last game. MS will say "Oh Bungie, you don't want all this money? ok, sure." lol
