Critically acclaimed sci-fi visual novel, STEINS;GATE, will be localized for Europe and North America for both the PlayStation 3 and PlayStation Vita in 2015. The visual novel takes place in the future, in the electronics shopping district in Japan, when a group of tech-savvy students discover a way to change the past using a modded microwave and text messaging. However, their experiments go haywire and the plot takes a turn for the worse as the students become involved with a conspiracy concerning a corporation named SERN and a forum user named John Titor. Players can interact with the plot through the "phone trigger" system, where they can receive calls and texts, and can decide whether or not to reply to the texts or respond to the calls. Furthermore, the plot outcome changes for every decision the player makes.

In 2010, STEINS;GATE ranked as the top seller in Japan, and is still considered one of the best visual novels to date. In fact, there is already an English version released for the PC, but now console users can now have the opportunity to play this gripping visual novel. Currently, the game is confirmed to be a digital download only, but the company is pushing to have a physical retail release. Will you consider purchasing the game? Additionally, what do you think about the flood of visual novels, like Zero Escape, Corpse Party, and Danganronpa, suddenly appearing in the US? Personally, I'm glad these mature visual novels are being released.
