It's time to break out your big rigs and battle gear, the 23rd annual QuakeCon is upon us!

Taking place at the Gaylord Texan Resort and Convention Center in Grapevine, Texas is QuakeCon 2018. This video game festival is host to North America's largest BYOC (Bring-Your-Own-Computer) LAN Party. Since it's conception in 1996, QuakeCon has become a well-known name in the video game community. Last year's event had over 9,000 attendants from all parts of the globe. Now for the first time, the QuakeCon 2018 expo hall will be open for 3 of the 4 days, Friday through Sunday (Previously Thurs-Sat).

LAN parties are important to the QuakeCon organizers. So they've doubled the size of this year's BYOC. Now even more people can show up to show off their builds, and show off their skills in what will be the largest LAN party you'll ever see! Some speculate that this year's BYOC could house as many as 5,000 gamers which would more than double the count from 2017.

QuakeCon 2018 takes place August 9-12. Admission is free for general attendance. There's even a chance for early admittance taking place Wednesday night(between 10pm and midnight), depending on when setup finishes. Big name companies like id Software and Bethesda will be stationed at the event to show off and talk about their latest projects. Don't worry, there will still be a number of things to do for those not bringing in their own computers. The Quakecon hotel rates will more than likely be in the area of $180 so it's advised to reserved your room(s) quickly! More details can be found on the QuakeCon website.  Gamerz Unite will have their usual presence at the Con this year so be sure to swing by and grab some candy. ;)

Hope to see you there!
