Geekdom conventions (or cons) are becoming more noticeable throughout the US, and they encompass a variety of tastes ranging from LAN Gaming to board games. Well, apparently one big comic con, Wizard World, is going to make their gaming convention a bit more enticing thanks to their recent partnership with Bandai Namco (they're known as the Official Anime Entertainment Partner for the 2016 Wizard World comic con and gaming tours). But wait, what will teaming up with Bandai Namco bring? Well, free plays of Tekken 7 during Wizard Worlds' exclusive amateur tour, which will be featured throughout the 2016 year.

Fans that are attending Wizard World Portland in Oregon will be the first to play Tekken 7 for free during the event held February 19-21 at the Oregon Convention Center. Oh, and did I mention there'll be a tournament of sorts?

According to John Macaluso, Wizard World CEO:

"Gamers are anxious to get to play the next chapter of the famed Tekken franchise, and we couldn't be more pleased that Wizard World is one of the few venues across North America where fans play it. It is an early payoff for our attendees of Wizard World's partnership with such a prominent name in gaming as Bandai Namco Entertainment."

And according to Eric Hartness, VP of Marketing at Bandai Namco:

"The Bandai Namco gaming area at Wizard World New Orleans was a big hit, and we have a lot more surprises and activities planned throughout the year. We're excited to take Tekken 7 on the road to enable fans across the United States to experience first hand the incredible fighting action of Tekken 7!"

Here is when and where Bandai Namco will show during the Wizard World Gaming Tour:
  • Portland, Oregon (Feb. 19-21)
  • St. Louis, Missouri (April 1-3)
  • Minneapolis, Minnesota (May 6-8)
  • Philadelphia, Pennsylvania (June 2-5)
  • Sacramento, California (June 17-19)
  • Columbus, Ohio (July 29-31)
