It appears as if EA has a few future franchises up its sleeve. Three brand-spanking new franchises will highlight the beginning of 2016 for EA, according to CEO Andrew Wilson during a recent investor call following the positive quarterly results for EA's first quarter. These three games will launch before the end of April 2016. To quote Wilson:

“We have more new experiences coming throughout the year. Our live services will continue to evolve with new content. We’ll have some great new mobile games, and we’re excited to have three new and original IP titles launching in Q4.”

If going by speculation and recent reveals, one of these titles could very well be the E3-unraveled Unraveled, a cute, quirky, and yet highly symbolic platformer that emphasizes bonding. Additionally, a notable franchise, Battlefield, will be making a return next year, hopefully with a plan to reignite the fans’ love for the series—after all, Hardline earned a 71 Metacritic score, though user scores were much more unforgiving, toting a 3.6 out of 10.

“Looking further ahead, we’re preparing more new games for our players. The reaction to a first look at Mass Effect: Andromeda at E3 was incredibly positive. We have a new Battlefield experience coming in Q3 FY 2017 and another new Star Wars project being led by the dynamic creative team of Jade Raymond and Amy Henning. These are just a few of the new experiences in development across our studios today.”

What do you think the two other new IPs could be? Whatever they are, we know for certain they will be original.

Unless it’s Road Rash. But that's not original. Sadly. Nevertheless, EA seems to be on the right path to gaining the trust of fans once more.
