Well, its that time of year.

In the three some years Ive been writing news online (look at me, citing years of experience as if it meant a damn thing), the holiday season is either extremely busy or really slow its shaping up to be one of the slow years currently, but hey, that doesnt mean theres nothing to talk about how about Destiny? Destiny is still relevant, right?

So, as you know, while Bungie has been hesitant to call it as much, Destiny is by every definition a MMORPGand thus, when you play, you have to follow some rules and guidelines lest you suffer the banhammer even if youre on consoles, which tend to make it harder for your average gamer to, say, cheat or mod. But not impossible. And following a week of heavy console bans, Bungie has officially revealed that playing Destiny on a modded or adjusted console will result in a ban from the game.

"We routinely review Banhammer actions to ensure that they are applied accurately and fairly. A review of the bans applied over the last week shows that all of the affected accounts had logged into Destiny on a modified console at some point."

Be careful out there. Play nice! And use the boxes that your favorite retailer gave you.

You can see why this might cause a bit of a kerfuffleafter all, you own your console, you should be able to do with it what you will but at the same time theres no ignoring the fact that modding can give you a decidedly unfair advantage over the opposition. Since its an MMO, I guess its to be expected, but still, telling their audience before a week of bans probably would have been kinder.
