E3 wrapped up over a week ago, but it seems some news during the event is still trickling out. The latest news comes from glorified mini-game, Death Stair. Seemingly based on some kind of Mario Party challenge, the game involves up to 3v1 competition. Some players start at the bottom of a staircase (runners) and do their best to reach the top. One player, however, starts at the top of the stairs (gunner) and tries to stop the others from climbing. Playing this is a surefire way to break controllers as well as friendships.

I can practically hear plastic snapping already.

Death Stair includes both local and online multiplayer. The gunner can use a wide variety of weapons to stop the others, from beach balls to rockets. As of now, 3 different maps have been advertised. And, of course, new modes and characters are promised to come out in free updates. Regardless of how mini-game it seems, Death Stair does appear to be a solid party game. It is expecting a PC release in August, but Xbox One owners will have to wait until early 2017.
