Stick a mask and claw on Cammy and call it a new character.

July 14th, 2013... Capcom surprised the fighting game community by announcing Ultra Street Fighter IV right before the grand finals of Super Street Fighter IV: Arcade Edition at Evolution. Five years after the first release of Street Fighter IV, Capcom was still supporting the game with a significant update.

It was revealed that on top of new mechanics and an entire rebalance the game, there would be five new characters added to the roster. Four of those characters: Rolento, Poison, Hugo, and Elena, were revealed during the announcement... with a mysterious fifth character to be revealed in the “near future”.

That near future has been six months now. A series of clues, like the gender and previous appearances of this character have been more of a tease by developers than most would care for. Sixth months of anticipation has been built-- I hope you enjoy your Bison Doll.

Moments ago Capcom just revealed the fifth character as Decapre at Final Round 17 in Atlanta, GA.

Swapping the colors and head off of one character for another isn't something new to Street Fighter; they've been doing it with Ryu and Ken since the first game. The Bison Dolls first appeared in Street Fighter Alpha 3 with Juni and Juli... who were swaps from Cammy. Decapre follows in the same tradition, but has charged based attacks and some ridiculously powerful ultras.

Decapre follows in that same tradition. Some expected maybe Rose's master or Gouken's niece, but obviously Ultra did not have the staff to create new character models. Expect to play as Decapre and the rest of the new cast (recycled from Street Fighter x Tekken) this June in DLC form. A retail disc and PC version will follow in August.
