Well, for those of you who might have been expecting continued greatness on the musical soundtrack front from Bungie might be upset with this news as long time employee Marty O'Donnell has officially fired without notice recently. Below is a statement he tweeted last week;

This is indeed frustrating news as he was busy at work on Destiny which if you haven't heard might rival or surpass Halo in terms of scale and epic grandeur it seems.

Mr. O'Donnell had been with the company since nearly the beginning and to fire him without cause seems a little "off" to say the least! Could Bungie be in trouble of being downsized by Microsoft in the near future? That might make some since with the somewhat recent rumors that Bungie was going to leave Microsoft all together.  Was O'Donnell's salary too large to keep on the books? We don't have any kind of information there so all of this is rather wild speculation.

Bungie did issue a response in regard to the firing below;

"For more than a decade, Marty ODonnell filled our worlds with unforgettable sounds and soundtracks, and left an indelible mark on our fans. Today, as friends, we say goodbye. We know that wherever his journey takes him, he will always have a bright and hopeful future. We wish him luck in all his future endeavors."

To me that sounds like they're just playing PR since they know they made a bone headed decision!

Could this be due to creative differences within the company? Thoughts?
