Broforce Celebrates Independence Day with Brotastic Freedom Update

There's no better time than now to become a Bro and fight for 'MURICA.

Happy Broforce Day! Erm, I mean Independence Day, but that isn't until tomorrow. Either way, the Broforce squad, commanded by Free Lives Games, is celebrating July 4 with a bit more than a cookout and fireworks -- we're talking about the Freedom Update, which brings players the ultimate patriotic patch to the already ultra-patriotic game. This patch introduces two no bros, new melee attacks, and "combat flexing."

First thing's first: Introducing the new-coming bros. First is the Brocketeer, who is based off Rocketeer and includes the specialty of the Brocket Dive, which is basically what it sounds like -- The Brocketeer becomes a brocket, launching directly into enemies and creating ultimate destruction and carnage.

Then we have Broheart, based off Braveheart, who isn't exactly American, but who's counting? Broheart, however, appears to be 100% American, sporting not just white and blue face-paint, but also red! His specialty? Freedom Rush, where he goes on a sword slashing rushing spree... FOR FREEDOM!

Next we have melee attacks, which include painful chainsawing, organ punching, more flip kicks, and MORE uppercuts! So, you know, you can be more extreme than before.

And finally, we have what is called flexing, which is...

Exactly what it sounds like. Your bros can flex now, as a team or alone, to show off their "broness" for 'MURICA!

Here's the exact description of Flexing, taken from the Steam page:

"No assault on terror would be complete without an impressive display of the bros' raw power, so we've introduced a new 'flexing' feature. Now you and your bros can cease-fire, flex your biceps in the face of evil, and exercise your right to bear arms so thick your shirts tear in half."

The update is available now for free, but if you don't have Broforce in your library, you can certainly purchase the action-packed game for $9.99 (Original $14.99) on Steam, or for $14.99 at Humble. Keep in mind though, that this update is only the first installment -- there will be a second installment in a few days with some new levels!
