August's PlayStation Plus Free Games Include Lara Croft and the Temple of Osiris, Stealth Inc. 2

Is it just me, or is the lineup becoming more awesome again?

Okay, it's hard to admit that the lineup for the Free PlayStation Plus Games is growing ever more stale. In fact, it's the complete opposite. Just this month, PlayStation Plus users have received an extremely addicting sports title, "Rocket League." The streak continues for the month of August with a few interesting entries, though two have already been released before for free:

PlayStation 4:

Lara Croft and the Temple of Osiris

The answer to Xbox One's timed-exclusivity of Rise of the Tomb Raider, Lara Croft and the Temple of Osiris pits Lara against ancient ruins with an Egyptian god. The sequel to Lara Croft and the Guardian of Light, this four-player title relies on the success of teamwork to overcome obstacles, complete complex puzzles, and of course, bash the brains of enemies.

Limbo

Limbo is a dark game, capable of jump-scaring me out of my shoes. A side-scroller stuffed with puzzles, an ominous, monochrome art style, and a giant @#$%@% spider, this game is more for those that are late to PlayStation Plus or who have lapsed in the service, because this has previously appeared as a freebie.

PlayStation 3:

God of War: Ascension

Still have your PlayStation 3? Of course you do, considering the lack of backwards compatibility for the PlayStation 4. Ascension is the prequel to the original God of War (Read: Moo), with an intriguing single-player mode. What differentiates Ascension from the other titles is multi-player.

Stealth Inc 2: A Game of Clones (Cross-buy with PlayStation 4 and Vita)

This once Wii U-exclusive platformer has been released quite recently for all other major platforms. Once again incorporating stealth mechanics and reflexes to escape a high-tech testing facility, Stealth Inc 2 offers 60 varied Metroidvania-style levels, the latest in high-tech gadgets, HD graphics, animated cutscenes, and a level editor to keep players occupied for hours.

PlayStation Vita:

Sound Shapes (Cross-buy with PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 3)

Sound Shapes is the second title that has been previously offered as a freebie. 50% digital audio workstation, 50% platformer, Sound Shapes brings a lot of fun, especially for creators aiming to bring their favorite tracks to platforming life.

CastleStorm Complete Edition (Cross-buy with PlayStation 3)

CastleStorm is a game where the phrase, "Don't judge a book by its cover" doesn't apply. It's exactly what it sounds like: a castle construction game combined with tower defense. Upgrade your fortress with only the greatest of weapons and destroy the invaders!

And there you have your games for the month of August. Your free games for the month of August. Sadly, two of them have been freebies of the past, but at the same time Lara Croft and the Temple of Osiris and Stealth Inc 2 are two titles that glimmer in the spotlight. What are you looking forward to next month? Anything?
