According to the latest issue of Dengeki PlayStation, a Japanese magazine, Sega plans to release a remastered version of Yakuza 3, Yakuza 4, and Yakuza 5 for PlayStation 4.

Shortly after this, popular Japanese outlet Famitsu released their own posting about the remasters. They state that the remasters will be the same as the original games, though updated to 1080p resolution and 60 frames per second. That's what remasters are, after all. They also claim that development of the Yakuza 3 remaster is about 90 percent complete. Unfortunately, the remasters will only be releasing in Japan, with no word of it coming to the West.

The three games have a release timeline as follows:
  • Yakuza 3 August 9 for 3,990 yen
  • Yakuza 4 Fall 2018
  • Yakuza 5 Spring 2019
Yakuza 6 released not long ago, and it has received positive criticism since. While you don't need to play the previous games to enjoy it to its full potential, it'll now be easier to do so, should you want to anyway. All from the comfort of your PlayStation 4.
