I've been playing Red Alert 3 since the day it came out last week. So far, I am digging the campaign. Although I will admit it's taking some time to get used to the feel of it. It's like Generals meets RA2. Which should be expected due to the game engine looking different. I guess the other part would be the new side that was added along with the way some units handle.

Pros:

- Fun campaign
- Hot actresses
- Amazing Graphics
- Fun water battles
- New support powers are cool.

Cons:

- As fun as the water battles are, sometimes the aspect of building a base in the water can be overwhelming.
- Odd feel due to new engine.
- The allies don't feel like the allies anymore. (Prism tank is weird.)
- The new Tanya is not the same, I miss the old actress, she was hot and truly nailed her character!
- Certain Rising Sun units seem to be overpowered.

That's my thoughts, you guys post yours...

Well, it's a totally awesome game but just got to admit. Gotta question EA for not using C&C 3 style of graphics! Then it would be totally awesome! lol.

Well I believe the reason they didn't was that Red Alert had always had that more "corny" type graphics. I will say that the graphics do remind me of RA2 which I'm glad they do. I think it's something you just have to get used to a bit. Could there be a little more realism in the game? Sure, but it's not keeping the replay value down for me. One thing I would like to revise is that after playing more, I've gotten used to the sides, the allies units and new abilities aren't too bad. The rising sun can be combated, you just have to know how. It's just more of a learning process for me when I have the time to play.

Actually your statement is agreed. Come to think of it. What realism graphic u want too when u can parachute a bear from a man canon. Haha. But it would be nice if the graphic is bit more real like. Whatever, i heard the new patch they nerf the Allieds alot and made Empire more powerfull. And if u go agaisnt brutal AI Japan. U can beat them under 3 mins with just man spam! lol

I play as Russia a lot and they aren't as great against the Rising Sun so I guess my experience there isn't so great.

Well, this tactic can work on using both Soviet or Allied. Just as u building your barracks (make sure it's the 1st ever building u build) set the rally point of your barracks within the AI's base and set the barracks to aggressive stance and train 3 bears, 6 flak troopers, 6 conscript and atleast 1 or 2 engineers and make sure the 3 bears is in front of the AI's barracks to prevent any infantry to be trained and then the flak troopers make sure that the nano core of the mecha bay is destroyed at all cause. When around 3 or 4 flak trooper have arrived, just attack the AI's ore miner and then with the conscripts and flak trooper u can wipe the base out and make sure the engineer tries to capture the MCV which will make it on the run. Just in the mean time keep on building your base as usual and build 6 hammer tanks to clean up any mess. Easly u can defeat brutal Japan.

I'll have to give this a try but I usually get hammered against brutals, lol... I'm usually only in "competitive" game mode when I'm playing other humans, it's hard to get that mindset when playing the computer and all. I tend to be lazy, walk away from the pc, get some food, talk on the phone, etc. Then my base goes bye bye. :P

The few times I've played on EA/Gamespy servers, I haven't really noticed that many elite players. I mean, I've played with some good ones but none that were ever crazy good. And yipes, I just noticed my post here is the 666 post inside this forum.

666 is beleived to be the bumber of satan! while other think its actually 611. Anyway back on topic, I dug out RA3 today (360) and started to play a skirmish match on medium difficulty with 4 AI, I must say that I got destroyed! I am really crap at this game (although I did complete the campain modes) maybe I just need some practice xD

I have a laptop as my computer, and not a gaming laptop so the graphics capabilities and processing speeds are bad (and will cause some games to crash), thats why I HAD to get it for the 360. Also my main computer is worse that my laptop so all PC games are a big nono for me.
