So I just purchased homefront. Hoping it's worth it. It looks pretty good from everything I've seen although I've heard the campaign is short (6 hours) although is that really short? lol

Yes too short. Lazy campaign design if that's true. EDIT: Ok so I read a bit about what the game is like. So apparently a fictional United Korea invades the USA. Hmm I can't say that premise is exciting to me, after all don't we have movies like that already? (Read Dawn). Well as for the 6 hour campaign, I could write one of my mile long rants on that trend, but then that's been happening since the past 8 years, when I first noticed Unreal 2's single player was surprisingly short, coming from Quake 2, and Unreal 1. I guess if I want to "participate" in an interactive movie, which a lot of these FPS games feel like now, I would think differently, but for now I'll pass on this game.

A lot of FPS games have started to really play down the single player opting for the multiplayer element, but games should really have both, especially for the amount that people have to pay nowadays. Developers need to buck up their ideas and get into the mindset that the single player is just as important as multiplayer, no matter what the genre.

Ditto.

I used to play games for their single player back in the day, because that's all I could do with 56K internetz....Now it's like single player is omitted, or just an afterthought in many of these games released today. Well to be fair, most of them are geared for multiplayer, so really, they don't even need a single player campaign.

Modern Warfare 2 and Halo Reach were EPIC with their single player.
