I never thought this day would come but I have fallen prey to an MMORPG. I started playing after my brother was reccomended it by a friend and now I can't stop playing and even play more than my brother.

I am annoyed that I have to pay a £9 a month subscription after buying the game for £20 (although thats did include all the four expansions.) but the great game and amazing people on it more than make up for it.

I will now lay down a series of reasons about why I think this is a great game:

1. Job System - The job system has been made to allow you to change jobs at any point in the game as long as you return to your (mog) house to do so. Thios means that the job system is not linear and one you have fully trained one job you can change to another without making a new character.

There are a number of jobs that have to be unlocked and can only be done after level 30 (I am a lvl 31 White Mage =]) but at the start of the game you start with jobs such as; White Mage, Black Mage, Warrior, Theif, Monk and Red Mage.

Some of the other jobs that you are able to unlock later are Samurai, Ninja, Paladin, Summoner and many more.

2. The Continent - The continent in FF11 is huge and has many areas to go. until you reach higher levels (such as 20) you are limited to where you can travel because of the enemies but the enemies in the areas you can go are sufficient enough to help you reach lvl 2o quite easily.

3. Linkshells - Linkshells are methods of communication with other players. Each player can equip one LS at a time and chat with all the other memebrs currently on that LS via the linkshell chat. This helps yoyu to make friends in game and allows you to find people to help you in missions or even just partying.

I was recently made a sac holder on my linkshell which gives me the ability to recruit new people to the linkshell by giving them one. =)

4. Partying - There can be a max of 6 people in a party, this means that as long as you have the right team compilation (jobs in the team) then you can go and train in harder areas at lower levels. Recently a feature was also added to make the game more fair to lower level people when partying, as it used to be that if one person was level 1 for example and they were parrtying with a level 10 then they would gain none of the experience.

This new feature called the Level Sync has made it much fairer as it brings the higher level person down to the level of the player being synced to so the experience is shared fairly. (level sync cannot be used below level 10 though as there is no point)

5. Story - The game does have a storyline and it is followed by doing quests for the nation that you have decided to be a citizen in, these missions are fun and lead to rewards through cash and leveling ranks. You gain a rank by defeating a boss as a quest after doing some smaller quests that get harder as your rank increases.

6. Races - There are are five races within the game to choose from when making your character, these are;
