I am a huge gamer having started in the old dial up days trying to play UT 99. Now I jump on CoD4 on a nightly basis. Look forward to maybe going to one of your events as I visit the Dallas area quite often.

Not to mention not cost $20,000 per day like the Anatole convention centers
lol, I don't think that one was ever a serious consideration.

Welcome to my world! I think that most conference rooms, banquet facilities, and store spaces are not compatible with what we do. I had to foot the bill to have our current facility upgraded to 400 amps in order to get our events a home. Most don't plan on having electric hungry rigs clustered in one room for 12+ hours. When we did an event originally we had blown breakers, hot cords and disappointed gamers which really sucked. Now we really go over a location to make sure they can handle our requirements.I played more Quake 2 back in the day, never really UT. I recently got into COD4, AWESOME GAME btw!
Oh, and welcome to the site btw. We're still looking for some space around here to host our first real LAN but it seems like most places we go to we have issues with the place not having the proper power/electrical system to accommodate 20+ gamers with power sucking systems, haha.
Definitely take the time to look for a good place.

We have places like that here. They still only had a T1 connection and you had to contract with the local utility company to trunk in extra power. Not to mention not cost $20,000 per day like the Anatole convention centers

I play Battlefield 2 and some Counter Strike Source but for the most part putting events together seems to occupy most of my time. Between sponsors, posts, emails and my real job it seems like most of the time I have to squeeze in gaming...lol!Me too , So what games are you into apart from COD4?
