OK so I watched a series on Netflix called The Guild. I don't know if this is something I can be good at. I don't know what systems I should have. Right now I have a PC with a tower. I am pretty sure the PS2 still works but never really played it because LEGO games were all I could win at. Is there anyway to join a group of players that are local to me here in Phoenix, AZ? Is it possible to find a group that wouldn't care about starting from the waaaayyyy beginning for a new member. If this is more for advanced and already know what to do type video game ppl then can someone suggest how I get into it, maybe there is a different website? I want to eventually go the whole nine like comicon and all that, but I don't know where to start. Virginia is the name. Wattup! Thanks!

Hey Virginia. Welcome to the site!

In the past (It's been awhile) we have had Lan Parties in your area posted so I'd say keep a look out for those...

https://www.gamerzun...rum/69-arizona/

Aside from that, I'd suggest looking through www.meetup.com for Gaming Groups in your area.  That's always a good place to start besides seeing if there's a Gaming Group for your area on Facebook.

It also depends on the kind of games you're into?

That would be my first problem is idk what kind of games there are. I have played hidden object games online and poker/spades/chess type games. I will do all of your suggestions because well I can't argue with what idk lol 4got 2 add that I also have played stuff like tekken/mortal combat/all the lego games but harry potter/stuff like mike tyson punch out nintendo jurassic park and xmen on sega. i know not recently and if memory serves i wasn't very good. like i said i am going to be a longshot, but every1 loves an underdog...umm right?!?

It sounds like you like Strategy games?

I would check into turn based strategy games and then also look at Real Time Strategy games.  (Google is your friend there)

Or you can view one of our Micro Sites that lists out all the Real Time Strategy games here:

https://www.rtsgaming.com/

My two favorites are the Command & Conquer series and Age of Empires.

Well, if you don't have Steam already then I HIGHLY suggest getting that!

https://store.steampowered.com/

It's a free app you can download to your computer and then you can search for games to buy.  Get the Age of Empires II HD Edition.  It's widescreen unlike the older games.

And yeah, Star Wars Empire at War is a fun game too.

I'd recommend playing the Skirmish battles alone or tutorials before graduating to the point of playing with others.  And actually, if you get the Age of Empires II HD Edition, you could play with some friends and myself sometime for fun. We're pretty easy going and not very good at the game either, lol.

Hey again, I will admit that I haven't played Star Wars Empire at War in a LONG time. Not even sure I have it installed. haha... Not sure when I'd be able to get on that however I could perhaps get on the Age of Empires game at some point.

I might have some time this weekend to play either.  I'll let you know.

And what is your Steam username/account? I'll add you as a friend.
