Looking for a computer to show off to friends at your next LAN party? Tired of the big old machines taking up all your space? Want something that will cause your friends to either gasp or scratch their heads in confusion?

Then let me introduce you to Wood Kubb. Part nature, part machine, this tiny machine will score some popularity among fellow gamers. Developed by Jean-Christophe Agobert, Wood Kubb is a wooden miniature French computer that blends wood with computer hardware. Currently on Kickstarter, Wood Kubb seeks to address space and noise issues within your own home while boosting your mood and daily life.

A bit more about Wood Kubb; compact at 4.9"x 4.9", Wood Kubb is constructed from first-class tree species such as ash and elm, giving each computer a unique look. Developed by 25-year IT veteran Jean Christophe Agobert, CEO of Bluejour, the wood kubb's concept was born of mountain hikes and trips to the countryside.

Wood kubb itself is a miniature computer--a piece of nature to bring home or to your office. There are three models, each with a different effect based on wood type--White Ash is the base model, Brown Ash the "middle-child," and finally the most precious and expensive Elm. Better yet, thanks to the natural properties of the wood, no two kubbs will look alike, and all wood kubbs will come with a three year backer warranty for any issue with them. The elm kubb, unfortunately will be extremely limited.

But you all are curious about the specifications, aren't you? Can you play your games on the wood kubb? Well, you can play far less intensive games, as there's no way you can fit a video card in your system.

Let's break down the specs:
  • Processor: Intel Core i3 to i5
  • Memory: 8 GB to 16 GB
  • Graphics: Intel HD 4400 - 5000
  • Storage: SSD 128 Go
  • Option: SSHD 1 To
  • Wireless: Wifi, Bluetooth, Widl
  • Sound Level: < 18 dB
  • Software: Windows 10
  • Consumption: 17 to 25 Watts
  • Network: Gigabit Ethernet
  • Fans: Blower
  • Power: 100 to 240 V
  • Connector: 4 USB + mini-HDMI + miniDisplayport
The latest version of the kubb will actually come with a little mini antenna of 1.18 inches. These won't come cheap, of course. There's an early bird special for $502 USD, but that's the cheapest it gets, so you may want to jump on that.

The earliest the wood kubbs will ship is November. Currently, the campaign is sitting $26,942 pledged of a $49,261 goal, with 33 days to go, so more than likely, wood kubbs will see full funding. If you want to support the campaign, you can always visit their Kickstarter Campaign here.
