Can't wait for backwards compatibility for your Xbox One?

Unfortunately, you'll have to wait just a little while longer. While the developers at Microsoft are planning to implement a system that would satisfy players demanding backwards compatibility, one modder, Edward Zarick, has already gone ahead and beat them to the to punch by creating a laptop, dubbed "Xbook Duo," that combines both the worlds of the Xbox One and the Xbox 360.

Players are able to hop from one Microsoft system to the other with only the flip of a switch. Unfortunately, there are no plans to develop additional models. In his website, Zarick explains his full process of creating the Xbook Duo, which is basically assigning the Xbox 360 components onto the left side of the machine and the Xbox One components onto the right. So if you’re desperate to make a single console featuring backwards compatibility, check out the following video:

Zarick has been known to create the "Xbook One" and "Playbook 4," which are the modded laptop versions of their console brethren.

Though the Xbox One lacks any form of backwards compatibility, the Playstation 4 currently runs a streaming service (in beta) called Playstation Now, a feature where players can play a selection of older Playstation games for a fee. As of right now, however, the service can be deemed pretty expensive, so here's to hoping for a decrease of fees in the near future. Nevertheless, the Xbook Duo is a nifty machine capable of playing older games that many of us know and love without relying on two consoles.

What about you, fellow players? Do you like the Playstation Now streaming service? Are you looking forward to a cloud-based service from Microsoft? What do you think of Zarick’s prototype?
