Battlerite, a mildly popular multiplayer online battle arena (MOBA) game developed by Stunlock Studios, made an announcement regarding their future plans for the game. Referred to as The Battlerite New Era Update, the developers have laid out their plan for the game over the next 4 months; each month has its own various changes to the game.

Prior to the upcoming update, what made Battlerite stand out from other MOBAs was its smaller party size and shorter matches. This made each individual's contribution to a match hold greater weight to the game as well as to each other. Whether or not these details will be as integral as they are now will only be made clear over time. They update is broken into 4 segments, each for the upcoming months.

September
  • Season 5 of early access competitive play will begin
  • a meet the voice actors video was released
  • Battlerite will be free to play for 1 week, spanning from Sept. 25th to Oct. 10th.
  • A Halloween Event starting September 29 lasting over five weeks. The event will feature a Halloween theme with unique Halloween weapons for all champions, as well as new themed avatars and four brand new legendary outfits.
October
  • The player will be able to build up to 5 loadouts and select between them before a match.
  • Instead of a tier system, all Battlerites will be available at the start of a match.
  • New Battlerites have been added, some have been replaced and many have been rebalanced.
  • Completely new UI, featuring scalability and is cross-platform ready.
  • A currently unannounced game mode
November
The Official Gold Release
  • Battlerites will go Free-To-Play on Nov. 8th
  • A secret new champion will release.
  • Over 200 new items will be added, ranging from skins to weapons to poses.
  • New Music!
  • Season 1 of non-early access competitive play
  • A new AFK prevention system
Later in November, there will also be an additional new champion, Destiny "The Sky Ranger" as well as a prehistoric event, which will be much like the Halloween event except with dinosaurs.

December
  • A Winter Event. Like the previous ones, this event will contain items and themes based off the tundra of winter.
  • An unannounced champion
They have also laid out some of the developer goals for 2018, listed as so:
  • Tournament system
  • new hud and score system
  • clan system
  • 3 x new champions in q1 2018
  • new modes, maps, and brawls
  • lunar new year event
  • Xbox launch
This is certainly a massive plate that Stunlock Studios have given themselves over the next year. If they implement everything as they intend to, then no doubt Battlerite will become a refined and enjoyable game. Till then you can get the game NOW in early access for 20 dollars on Steam.
