It's been 60 years since Sega launched, and to celebrate, they've announced the Game Gear Micro.

You know, in case you wanted to relive the Game Gear days in miniature form.

And if you only want four games that are included... in each of the four colors offered.

What color variations and games will be available?
  • Black will include Puyo Puyo 2, Sonic the Hedgehog, Royal Stone, and OutRun.
  • Blue will feature Sonic & Tails, Gunstar Heroes, Sylvian Tale, and Baku Baku Animal.
  • Yellow contains Shining Force Gaiden, Shining Force Gaiden 2, Shining Force Gaiden Final Conflict, and Nazo Puyo Arle no Roux.
  • Red has Megami Tensei Gaiden: Last Bible, Megami Tensei Gaiden: Last Bible Special, The GG Shinobi, and Columns.
As for the stats of the mini console itself, the size of the body will be 80mm wide x 43mm tall x 20mm thick, which is 40 percent smaller than the original Game Gear. And if you're thinking, "Geez, wouldn't the screen be incredibly small?", then have no fear, because Sega plans on transporting you to the 90s with the Big Window Micro magnifying glass. However, the problem is that to obtain the Big Window Micro, you'll need to pre-order al four Game Gear Micro consoles. But you can only pre-order them in Japan at the moment, since Sega has yet to announce a Western release date.

Finally, the Game Gear Micro, which features a built-in speaker and a headphone jack, can be powered by two AAA batteries or via micro USB cable since, you know, we're in 2020 now.

As mentioned, the Game Gear Micro will only be available in Japan on October 6, 2020, for 4980 yen ($45.77 at the time of this writing).
