Rumor: Dead Island 2 is Possibly Cancelled?

I'm personally hoping for an E3 reveal.

Oh boy, Dead Island 2 is not looking good at the moment. In April of 2015, it was delayed indefinitely, thanks to changes in development teams (Deep Silver, the publisher, actually dropped Yager Development as the developer of the game). Sumo Digital has since taken on the up the mantle, and no more has been heard. Someone noticed on NeoGAF that the Dead Island 2 listing on Steam disappeared, and the SteamDB name is now: "Unknown App 268150." Could this mean that it has been completely cancelled? Or could it mean that a re-reveal is coming? Perhaps it will be entirely new, and Deep Silver no longer wanted to be associated with Yager's old reveal.

Hopefully it will be the latter, and we will instead see a new reveal at E3. It would be nice, wouldn't it? The original Dead Island was pretty good, after all. Fingers are crossed here!

Ah well, if you want to remember what the old trailer was like, here you go.

At least, it was a pretty cool and freaky extended trailer, which was set in California.
