Yet another Overwatch hero is coming to HoTs.

Heroes Of The Storm just received one of the largest updates since its release. The 2.0 update not only changes the game's free to play system, but it also brings us one of Overwatch's most beloved heroes, at least for me: Genji. Blizzard has slowly been blending the worlds of Overwatch and Heroes Of The Storm, and as part of the 2.0 update, Blizzard revealed the D.Va will be making an appearance on the roster sometime in the future, though no details have been given yet.

In celebration of both Genji and the Hanamura map being added to the game, Blizzard has brought back the Nexus Challenge in which players can earn bonuses for both Overwatch and Heroes Of The Storm when they play the game with a friend.
  • Week 1: 5 games with a friend gets you both the Oni Genji skin in Overwatch and the Orochi Hovercycle Mount in Heroes, plus sprays, banners and a portrait.
  • Week 2: 5 Quick Match games with a friend gets you both the Police D.Va skin in Overwatch and the Police D.Va Hoverbike mount in Heroes.
  • Week 3: 5 Quick Match games with a friend gets you both D.Va sprays and portraits in each game, plus the Overwatch coin mount in Heroes.
  • Week 4: 5 Quick Match games with a friend gets you 10 loot boxes in each game (20).
I don't know about everyone else, but I missed the Oni Genji skin, so I'm definitely taking advantage of this opportunity and forcing my brother to play HoTs with me. On top of the new Overwatch hero, update 2.0 brings tons of new cosmetic items as well as introducing the loot box system, just like in Overwatch. Honestly, due to the success of Overwatch, I think every game should have a similar loot box system. Opening presents is always fun: even virtual ones.

As if the update couldn't get any better, players will receive 100 gems upon logging in. Just enough to buy yourself a new hero class bundle which includes 20 different characters.
