It has recently been reported that a brand new trend is hitting Overwatch competitive play. It's not an update, a change of any kind, or anything even remotely cool. A player has been running around in ranked play on a smurf account in Masters. Before the game, he tells teammates to send him $5 on PayPal or he's going to throw the game. Players took this to be a joke and completely ignored his comment. The troll then autolocked Ana, repeatedly ran into fights to feed the enemy team and forced his team to lose the game.

This happened on Playstation 4 and the player who witnessed the misconduct decided to take it up with Blizzard. He contacted them and sent his recorded footage over to the company. Blizzard reached out and told him that he had to take it up with Sony because they can't do anything about griefers. After talking to Sony, they told the player that they don't care what happens in a Blizzard game and they can't do anything about it.

Even if this player did get banned, he was playing on a smurf account and could easily make another one and start over once again. If this trend picks up, competitive play on console could get destroyed and high tier players will be forced to switch over to PC or drop competitive gameplay altogether. You can see the initial report and the huge response it's gotten right here.
