A few months ago, we touched upon an interesting game from the developer of Skull Girls, Lab Zero. Indivisible is a concept that strayed completely away from the fighting genre, but that doesn't mean the experience will be worse. Today, Lab Zero Games has launched the prototype for their new action RPG, alongside the release of its Indiegogo campaign. Completely free, the prototype aims to showcase the game's unique art style, platforming elements, and RPG gameplay to give players reasons to throw money at the crowdfunding campaign.

To elaborate, 505 Games actually funded the prototype, which is being used as proof of concept for Indiegogo. However, the money being sought after is a tad... high.

Lab Zero aims to raise a grand total of $1,500,000, and should the funding goal be reached, 505 Games will match the rest of the development budget needed to complete the game. So basically, the funds raised in the campaign can be perceived as some sort of test to garner audience interest.

For those who have not heard of Indivisible, the title is a new RPG IP starring Ajna, a girl who embarks on a worldwide journey to discover the reasons behind her enigmatic powers. Along said journey, she encounters and befriends many heroes and gains new abilities that will prove useful in the quest. Featuring 2D hand-drawn animation, a deep soundtrack from legendary Secret of Mana Composer Hiroki Kikuta, and a strong storyline inspired by Southeast Asian mythologies, Indivisible seems like, if it comes to fruition, a beautiful, memorable experience that will stick with you for many years to come.

Having played the prototype itself, I definitely want to see this game flourish and reach its goal. Gameplay-wise, it's a balanced mix of action, puzzles, and creativity. The battle system is extremely reminiscent of Valkyrie Profile, the music atmospheric and appropriate, and the art direction simply gorgeous. Sure, it needs polishing, but it IS a prototype, and that is what excites me most.

Currently, Indivisible's prototype is available for Windows, though a Mac and Linux version will be available soon. So far, the prototype represents around three and a half months of work from a small team, so don't expect anything grand. If you're liking the prototype and want to back the project, you may do so here on the official Indiegogo page.

So far, $75,522 USD has been raised within 9 hours, so hopefully the project picks up the pace soon. Here's hoping!
